Joomla Real Estate: Is the individual agent website dead?

Joomla ...Now just a simple extension to the business card? Not necessarily. However, consumers are becoming weary of submitting a form to "search the multiple listing services." With the internet kicking into gear and becoming Web 2.0alized, many real estate template providers are trying to find new and exciting features to beef up their products. Companies such as Alamode, Point 2 Homes, Z57, and many others are still thriving, although with the new generation of "Internet Children" quickly arising out of the wood work, it's soon going to be possible to find customized Web 2.0 solutions for similar costs. So, if you're tired of the same old real estate websites that are still being pushed, where can you turn for a different website solution?

Technically speaking, the Mambo induced split that happened about two years ago, produced a company called Joomla. Along with Joomla (a content management system or CMS), others such as Druple, Wordpress, etc. are no harder to manage than the behind the scenes CMS solution at Alamode. The only major wall standing in the way of many of the surviving agents still hanging on in the changing market is time. But, its usually time that gets spent on search engine optimization (SEO), which falsifies the belief of quickly ranking number one in Google for local real estate related search strings.

Locally, at least with the larger metropolitan skylines, the SERP’s (Search Engine Result Page) are congested with sites that have been in the game since the beginning of the real estate boom. "Well, can’t I just pay to be in the sponsored results?" You sure can...but the return is going to be drastically worse if you don’t have what the home buyers are searching for. Content is still king and with Web 2.0, video, and social networks knocking down the door, its time to board the train.
