The stately Moses Myers House is part of a historical identity of the Norfolk Community. The house, belonged a wealthy Jewish family, captivates the period and life of this prosperous family. Within 4 years after marrying his wife Eliza Abraham and moving to America, Moses Myers built a shipping empire fit for his export and import business. Moses Myers was an American Entrepreneur and a leading citizen who built the mansion to accommodate his growing family and prominence. Passing through several generations, the descendents of the Moses Myers family, one of them was the mayor of Norfolk decided to restore the house to its original regal in 1892.

»USS Wisconsin
The USS Wisconsin was first commissioned for World War II (1944-1945) where it did a significant amount of damage on the enemy lines. On the 14th of March, it bound for Japan. It eliminated airborne and land resistance from the Japanese homeland to American forces off Okinawa. Her second commission was in 1950 when she was sent to the Korean War to ward off the North Korean forces that were invading South Korea. The only damage done to Wisconsin was not from war efforts but from a collision with another battleship, USS Eaton, where her bow was damaged. Wisconsin was last commissioned on the 7th of August 1990 to the Gulf War for the fight against the invasion of Kuwait by Saddam Hussein’s Iraq. This was the last time that any United States battleships actively participated in a foreign war.

There are six major parks in Norfolk; Barraud Park, LaFayette Park, Lakewood Park, Northside Park, Ocean View Park and Tarrallton Park. These parks are committed to family orientated activities from picnics to sports facilities. An example of another facility is the Youth Development facility, a new addition to the Recreation Parks and Open Spaces in Norfolk. The program aims to help developing youths into engaging activities that will help with their future planning and as place for youth to output their overall energy during their free time.
