October is Virginia's Wine Month and there is only one place to celebrate... The 19th Annual Cingular Town Point Virginia Wine Festival is the place to be, October 21-22, 2006. Town Point Park is nestled on the banks of the Elizabeth River in Downtown Norfolk, Virginia and is the perfect setting for Hampton Roads' Oldest and Largest wine festival.

Every year, 30 vintages from Virginia’s premier wine-makers come to join in this festival where throngs of visitors and locals alike sit and sip wine. The musical sounds of Lewis McGehee, apparently he always participates in performing for this event, will accompany you as you sample over 30 vintages from Virginia's premier wine-makers. In addition to wine, gourmet foods and specialty wares will be available for purchase throughout the weekend. You can sit on the lawn or on your reserved tables sampling different wines and gourmet cheeses along with your family and friends. It is an excellent way of chilling out especially after a long week.

Guests are able to reserve tables, private or corporate chalets, or purchase individual sampling tickets as well as general admission tickets. All the wines presented during the festival are available for purchase by the bottle or by the case. However, due to the high capacity of interest and attendance, it would be wise to reserve early or be disappointed at the door. The organizers are very strict on their rules as in no additional tables or chairs will be added to what’s already there – as to not jeopardize the level of enjoyment and comfort of those who have made reservations early.
